Headquartered in Palo Alto, California, Glean was founded in 2019 by Arvind Jain, a former Google search engineer.
Jain graduated from IIT Delhi, one of the top engineering colleges in India. After graduation, he quickly made a name for himself in the tech world, gaining experience at companies like Microsoft, Akamai and Riverbed.
Glean's current focus is to provide search and knowledge management solutions to organizations by connecting their applications and databases.
Using a combination of vector and keyword search, Glean trains customized AI models for each client company to build a knowledge graph about the company's people, content, and interactions, including the language and context of the client company.
Glean is an AI-powered enterprise search engine designed to solve the problem of inefficient information retrieval within organizations.
It is able to quickly locate and consolidate fragmented information, such as meeting minutes, support tickets, project files, etc., across more than 300 SaaS products used by organizations, dramatically improving the speed at which employees can find information.
Glean's success lies in its ability to learn from enterprise data and train customized AI models for each client company to build a knowledge graph about the company's people, content, and interactions, which not only breaks down the barriers between different SaaS applications and differently-structured data, but also circumvents the drawbacks of generalized models that have poor information accuracy and security.
