Founder Qu Xiaoyin describes Heeyo like this: It is designed for children aged 3 to 11, and we want it to be a mentor and playmate for every child. When I was a kid, I was fascinated by making paper airplanes that could do somersaults, which were special paper airplanes that not only flew, but also flew back. I was very interested in the different forms of this paper airplane and the way it flew. But at that time, my parents didn't understand how to instruct me and didn't know much about aerodynamics. My teachers also thought it was a nuisance for me to mess around like that and thought I should be neater. My interest wasn't well supported, it felt like I was doing something wrong, and I slowly gave up.
Since I was a little girl, I've always thought about having a smart friend who would always support me, who would show me how to do whatever I was interested in, and who would guide me in developing my interests and passions. I wanted a companion like Doraemon who could answer any question and teach me anything I wanted to learn. But there was no such product at that time. Last year, with the development of AI technology and our explorations, I think that at least for this case, AI technology is relatively mature and we can realize this idea.
Our goal is to provide an exclusive mentor and playmate for children aged 3 to 11 around the world. The main way to do this is through play to develop children's interest and inspire them to learn a particular field.
