Overview

Midjourney is the world's most popular AI design product that generates images from natural language descriptions.

Midjourney's products are built into Discord, and users interact conversationally with the Midjourney bot, submitting Prompts to quickly get the images they want.

Midjourney is based on a SaaS subscription model. Initially, users can generate 25 photos for free. After that, they are charged on a subscription basis. Pay monthly for $10, $30, or $60, or yearly for $8, $24, or $48/month. It's worth noting that users only own the rights to images created using midjourney with a subscription.

Midjourney CEO David Holz has said, "It takes people seconds to draw on paper, but minutes to hours in front of a computer; it's not because computers aren't smart enough, or because people don't know what they want, it's because there are certain barriers that exist between human beings and computers that prevent us from engaging in even the most basic of exchanges. " Midjourney wants to strengthen the connection between humans and computers, with the goal of "exploring new vectors for thought and expanding the human imagination."

Midjourney occupies multiple positions on the AI company Value Chain, with an entire technology stack of data, model, and application layers. Midjourney has built its own closed-source model with reference to CLIP and Diffusion, captured public data for training, and built the Midjourney bot application in Discord. As an application layer company, Midjourney collects user feedback data, iterates on technological advances, and continuously iterates its models.
